Taylor grew up in Alberta and now lives in Athabasca with her fiancé and their three dogs, not far from the acreage and lakes that shape most of her weekends. Before travel, she spent more than a decade in hospitality, marketing, and event management, building wine tastings, spirit experiences, and farm-to-table dinners from the ground up, and learning along the way what actually makes people feel looked after. We asked her about home, hospitality, and the trip at the top of her list.
Tell us about yourself!
Born and raised in Alberta, I live in Athabasca with my fiancé and our three dogs. Life revolves around wide-open spaces, beautiful lakes, and the simple pleasures of acreage living.
My passion for hospitality began long before travel became my career. For more than a decade, I worked in hospitality, marketing and event management, creating everything from intimate wine tastings and spirit experiences to farm-to-table dinners and special events. Along the way, I developed an appreciation for the details that elevate an experience, from exceptional service and memorable dining to the thoughtful touches that make people feel truly cared for.
I’ve always been fascinated by how places tell a story through their food, culture, history, and design.

What do you like to do outside of work?
You’ll usually find me in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes, creating homemade syrups, shrubs, and cocktails, or finding new ways to incorporate ingredients from my garden. My well-loved The Flavor Bible is never far from reach. I love exploring flavor pairings, creating ambiance, and bringing people together through memorable experiences around the table.
I also love spending time outdoors with my fiancé and our dogs. Whether we’re camping, fishing, golfing, skiing, hiking, or simply enjoying a bonfire beneath the northern lights, being outside is one of my favorite ways to recharge. Living in northern Alberta provides endless opportunities for adventure and a deep appreciation for the natural beauty right outside our door.

Where is your favorite travel destination?
My favorite destinations are actually quite close to home: Panorama and Tofino, British Columbia. While they offer completely different experiences, both capture what I love most about travel.
Panorama is my favorite place to go skiing. There’s something special about driving west through Canmore and Banff and watching the mountains along the way. I love its quiet village atmosphere, ski-in/ski-out accommodations, and uncrowded slopes. It’s also home to one of my most cherished memories, the place where my fiancé proposed.
Tofino draws me in for entirely different reasons. I love its rugged coastline, laid-back atmosphere, and connection to the ocean. Spending the day hiking coastal trails, exploring hidden beaches, and enjoying fresh local seafood is about as perfect as it gets.

What is your bucket-list destination?
The Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland now sits firmly at the top of my travel wish list. There’s something about coastal destinations that always draws me in, and the combination of seaside villages, historic estates, incredible golf and fishing feels like the perfect fit. Having driven the Oregon coast, I know some of my favorite travel memories come from slowing down, taking the scenic route, and discovering the places in between.
I can picture spending my days exploring the coastline, visiting whiskey distilleries, and lingering over memorable meals before returning to a beautiful castle estate. With my background in hospitality, I’ve always appreciated the fine details, from the ambiance of a cozy pub to the decor, gardens, and setting of a thoughtfully designed property. After spending so much time studying the destinations and accommodations along the Wild Atlantic Way, I’ve developed a real desire to experience it for myself.
