Driving Licence Requirements
You and all approved drivers must be in possession of a full, valid driving licence for at least 2 years. Furthermore, the following conditions
apply depending on the issuing country of the driving licence.
UK Driving Licences
In addition to your licence, either a valid and up to date DVLA licence check code or a printed DVLA endorsement record must be provided for
all Approved Drivers. A valid DVLA code or printed endorsement can be obtained from the DVLA website (www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence).
For the validity of the code, please refer to the DVLA guidelines. Drivers under 23 years of age must not have any endorsements on their
licence. For drivers 23 years of age and older, the maximum number of points on the licence is 6. However, some endorsements on your
licence may restrict your ability to drive the vehicle, even if you have 6 or less points on your licence. If you or any other driver have any
endorsements on your licence, please contact our call centre on 08444 99 33 99 to check if you qualify to drive.
EU Driving Licences
Valid driving licences of all EU countries are accepted in the UK without further preconditions.
All Other Licences
Driving Licences printed with non-Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, and Cyrillic) must be accompanied by a valid International Driving
Permit. For Chinese driving licences, no International Driving Permit is required, however you must provide a valid translation form for the
licence (available from the Sixt China Customer Service by contacting [email protected]).
You agree that we may elect, at our discretion, to pass your reservation to another business with whom we have a referral arrangement in
place. You agree that, if we do so, we act as agent for that other business. This means that when we pass your reservation over to that other
business:
(a) we will have no further obligation to you; and
(b) your agreement for the rental of the vehicle will be with the other company and not with us.
(c) Deposits will be obtained by the other business before the vehicle is hired. The deposit amount will not exceed the excess value.
(d) Minimum age requirements and protection excess amounts may differ

Important notice
Certain professional groups, such as rally drivers, are unfortunately not permitted to rent a vehicle from Sixt Northern Ireland. For a full list
please refer to the terms and conditions.
Age restrictions
Certain regulations apply related to minimum age and possession of driver’s licence which can be found during the booking process
depending on the booked vehicle. The minimum age for UK/EU licence holders is 21 years (having held the driving licence for at least 3
years). A deviation from the minimum age is possible depending on the vehicle.
In Northern Ireland, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver’s licence:

Tariff information
General
All credit cards from internationally recognised credit card companies – such as American Express, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa, Airplus, British
Maestro and VISA Debit are acceptable as payment methods whereas any other prepaid cards, debit cards (Visa Electron/Maestro) or
Switch/Solo cards are not accepted. The payment method must have been issued in the name of the driver. This must be presented at the
time of vehicle pick-up and be valid at this time.
Debit cards may be used for payment of rental charges only. Debit cards may not be used to cover the deposit, unless the Super Top Cover
has been purchased.
Sixt CarExpress Servicecard (Advantage Circle) is only accepted in combination with a valid Credit Card.
Cash Payment is not accepted.
An advance charge approval is obtained for the chosen means of payment as a security. The exact deposit is determined on collection since
the amount is dependent on the vehicle.

Special rental information when booking Prepaid rates
Prepaid tariff – Pay now
When booking at a prepaid rate, the payment will be charged along with the total rental price (incl. booked extras and charges) prior to the
rental. The driver and mode of payment shall be finalised at the time of reservation and cannot be changed. The confirmed credit card should
be valid and available for presentation on collection of the vehicle. All extra costs that occur during the car rental will be charged to this credit
card.
A refund shall not be issued for non-collection, vehicle being collected late or returned early.
Changing booking
A booking can be changed up to 48 hours before the start of the rental (on availability) in return for an alteration charge of 20.40 GBP. Any
payment already made towards the rental will not be refunded; nor shall any differential amount be refunded if this alteration leads to a lesser
rental cost.
A booking can be cancelled before the start of the rental. In the event of cancellation, the payment already made towards the rental will be
paid back subject to a cancellation charge. The cancellation charge shall be the amount of the rental charge (including any extras and
charges) for a maximum of 3 rental days. Cancellations can be made online or in writing and must be addressed to: Sixt rent a car, 181 Airport

No-show
In the event that the booked vehicle is not collected or not collected at the agreed time, the rental charge already paid shall be withheld in full.
Third Party Insurance (TI)
Insurance coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with a maximum cover of GBP 5,000,000 for damaged vehicle and
unlimited liability for personal injuries. Insurance coverage is limited to Europe only.
Excluded from the protection is the use of the vehicle for the transport of dangerous goods. All protection as part of the rental contract will
become void, in particular, if an unauthorized driver has used the vehicle or if the driver of the vehicle does not possess the required driver’s
license at the time of the event giving rise to claim.
Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)
Loss damage waiver (incl. theft protection) removes the driver’s responsibility to a part of the vehicle in case of damage or theft.
If loss damage waiver (incl. theft protection) is accepted, the customer is only responsible for the following amounts:

Tyre and Windscreen Coverage (TG)
The tire and glass coverage provides protection for damages on tires, windscreen, side windows and the rear window with a deductible of
GBP 0.00.
If the protection is not accepted, the customer will be held liable for the full extent of the damage.
Tyre and windscreen coverage is not offered on the P***, L*** and X*** car groups.
Roadside protection
The roadside protection is an extended breakdown protection during the rental and protects you at home and abroad against high service and
repair costs for the following incidents caused by you: key locked in vehicle, breaking caused by lack of fuel, assistance with starting
necessitated by flat battery and vehicle stuck.
All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with Sixt Northern Ireland. We will determine the type and extent of service required to
ensure the client can continue the journey. If any damage on the rental vehicle occurs, which is not covered by Sixt within the scope of the
Roadside Protection, the renter is liable for such damage.
Cross border rentals and territorial restrictions
Cross Border Rentals are allowed to the following countries:
Ireland
A written permission issued by the Sixt branch is mandatory to cross the border.
Vehicles may be taken into the Republic of Ireland by paying a foreign use charge but must not leave the island of Ireland.
If vehicles leave Northern Ireland without paying a foreign use charge a fine of 250.00 GBP applies.
You can only add written permission at time of pick up or by returning the car to any Sixt location in Northern Ireland and signing a new rental
agreement. You cannot add this cover over the phone or e-mail. We reserve the right not to authorise one- way rentals either to the Republic
of Ireland (Dublin airport only) or any other Sixt branch in Northern Ireland after pick up.
In case of offence against Cross Border & Territorial Restrictions all protections lose their validity.
Extras
One-way rentals
One-way rentals within Sixt locations in Northern Ireland are allowed under conditions depending on tariff.
In the case of unannounced and unauthorised one-way rentals, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
Navigation system
Navigation systems are available subject to a fee.
Additional Driver
A charge is levied for the additional driver, whose details are noted in the lease only if the additional driver presents a valid driver’s licence.

Baby and child seats
Baby seats, child seats and booster seats are available subject to a fee.
Vehicle refuelling
If desired, the vehicle will be refuelled according to currently available conditions after returning it to the station.
Alternatively, you may purchase a full tank of fuel at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations and return the tank
empty. No refunds will be given for unused fuel.
Alternatively, you may book a tanking service for a fee and return the tank empty. The refueled liters will be charges at a price that is
competitive with local fuel stations additionaly to the prior noted tanking service fee. Subject to availability, at selected stations only.
Dashcam
A Dashcam is available subject to a fee.
(Dashcam = DA)
Diesel guaranteed
Upon request, we will guarantee a vehicle with a diesel engine for a fee.
(Diesel guaranteed = DI)
Air condition is available subject to a fee.
(Air condition = AC)
Other charges and taxes
Premium location fee
A premium location fee occurs per month or part thereof for rentals at airport and train stations.
Out of opening hours
Out of opening hours service is available at selected stations. In this case, an additional charge applies for the provision of the service.
This service is only guaranteed when paid to the branch prior to using this service.
Vehicle Licence Fee
A Vehicle Licence Fee occurs.
Registration Fee/Road Tax
A Road Tax occurs.
M50 Motorway Electronic Tolls
Tolls are automatically charged to the rental vehicle on M50 Motorway only. The renter should make payments for these tolls via www.eflow.ie.
Sixt will charge the amount incl. administration fee to the renter if they do not pay their toll charges.
If the renter pays the toll directly, the receipt must be provided to Sixt on return.
Express Toll:
For your convenience, you can purchase our optional Express Toll Service which offers two uses of automated toll lanes.
Lost Key
A Lost Of Key Fee applies.
Smell-Removal-Fee
All Northern Ireland Sixt cars are non-smoking cars. If a car needs additional cleaning/smell-removal caused by smoking, a cleaning charge
will apply in addition to the days on which the car cannot be used.
Vehicle Cleaning
In case the car requires a special cleaning procedure (i.e. animal pollution, spill of liquids etc.) after returning, a cleaning charge will apply in
addition to the days on which the car cannot be used.
Flexi Return Guarantee
Plans can change. As a flexible mobility partner, we are happy to adapt to your plans. Thanks to our Flexi Return guarantee, you have the
freedom to return the vehicle at any time to an authorised Sixt station, regardless of the rental agreement.
If your plans change during your hire period, let us know by telephone on +44 3300022666 or in person at any of our numerous stations, and
our employees will amend your rental contract. By doing this, we can adapt to your changed plans. This service is, of course, free of charge
for you.
If you return your vehicle earlier than agreed in the rental contract, we will charge the rental price according to the rental contract. You will
receive a partial discount for the unused rental days.
Refund for early return (in % of the price difference): Early Return 50%
Maximum amount payable by the customer for early return (GBP) : 180,00
Flexi Return Guarantee in the tariff Pay now
When booking at a prepaid rate, a refund shall not be issued for returned early. For further information please refer to the section Prepaid
Tariff – Pay now.
Flexi Late Return in both tariffs (Pay later & Pay now)
If you return the vehicle later, without notifying us, we will bill you GBP 12.00 service fee for the Flexi Return Service. This fee applies in
addition to any extra days which might incur due to the rental extension.
Flexi Return Location in both tariffs (Pay later & Pay now)
If you return the vehicle to a station other than that agreed in the rental contract, the Flexi Return location will incur a service fee of GBP 19.99
if we have not been informed of the changes to the rental contract in advance.
With our Flexi Return guarantee, you will always have maximum flexibility and cost-efficiency when driving.
VAT 20%
All rates include tax/VAT (if incurred).
For corporate customers with individual agreements alternative prices and regulations can apply.
