What has been your most memorable vacation?
My most memorable vacation to China was truly life-changing; my husband and I traveled there twice, each time to adopt our children. These journeys were far more than vacations; they were deeply emotional experiences that connected us to the rich culture and heritage of our children’s birth country. Spending time in China gave us first hand insight into its traditions, history, and daily life, which helped us better understand and appreciate the roots of our family. These trips reinforced how essential it is to respect and embrace the culture and heritage of any place you visit; not just as a traveler, but as a learner and guest.
What is your favorite place to visit?
My favorite place to visit again and again is Dalkey, Ireland; a charming seaside village just south of Dublin where I had the great fortune of living for three years. Dalkey is a place where nature feels like it’s right at your back door, with stunning coastal views, winding streets, and a warm, welcoming community. Surrounded by water and rich with history, it’s also just a short walk to Killiney Hill, one of my favorite spots to take a peaceful walk or simply sit and reflect on the beauty of Ireland. It’s a place that continues to feel like home, no matter how many times I return.
What do you do outside of work?
Outside of work and travel, I find joy in the simple, grounding routines of home life. I relax with my family and lively household of two dogs, one cat, and two birds; all of whom keep life interesting and full of love. I enjoy spending time in my garden, growing my own food and enjoying the quiet satisfaction that comes from nurturing plants. One of my favorite ways to unwind is sitting in the back garden reading and watching nature go by. I also love going to live concerts and have been known to travel overseas to see my favorite bands.
Why do you love traveling?
I love to travel with my immediate and extended family because it brings us closer together through shared experiences and unforgettable memories. We often plan big family trips, both abroad and within the U.S., bringing together a large group for fun and connection. Our most recent adventure took us to Munich for Oktoberfest; a vibrant, cultural celebration that perfectly captured our love for immersive travel. Whether it’s exploring local art, history, or food, we seek out cultural and artistic experiences wherever we go. Travel broadens the mind, and I’m always looking forward to planning our next great adventure. Let me help you plan your own getaway!
