Tell me about yourself!
I am from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon which is known as the “City of Roses” and the birthplace of Nike. I attended the University of Oregon “GO DUCKS” and now my daughter is attending the same college. My husband and I are currently “Empty Nesters”. However, we do have an 11 year old Yorkshire Terrier who keeps us busy and is extremely needy. I spent my early 20’s working in the travel and tourism industry. Twenty plus years working in Aesthetics and a small business owner of a Spa and Eyelash Extension Company. I have come full circle and returned to a career that I am most passionate about. The world of travel!
My family has been so fortunate to have been able to explore many different countries and cultures. The Serengeti of Africa, Atlas Mountains of Morocco, Manuel Antonio National Park of Costa Rica, Archipelago in Ecuador and Galapagos Islands, to name a few. We absolutely love to TRAVEL!!! Europe has always been one that fascinates me. So many unique countries in a proximity you can travel to in a short amount of time. We spent one month in Europe and visited 8 countries during that time period. We have a map of the world in a room of our house that we like to put blue sticker dots on the places we have seen. That trip alone we covered a lot of our map with blue dots. I look forward to helping others plan their most memorable travel and life changing experiences.
What has been your most memorable vacation?
This question is really hard for me to answer, because each trip has made such a lasting impression on me. I end up making coffee table books after each of our trips, so that I can flip through the pages and return to those places and memories all over again. The food in Thailand is unforgettable. Watching a live birth of a gazelle while in the Serengeti was also unforgettable. Doing a segway tour and touring FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou was pretty spectacular also!
What do you like to do besides work and travel?
I like to stay very active, so I do fitness classes 2-3 times a week. Barre class being one of my favorites. I love going for walks with my friends and stopping at the local coffee shops for a vanilla latte and conversation. I enjoy decorating and organizing. I tend to be that friend people call when they need a closet organized, or help picking a new wall color for their home. I also love working with animals. My daughter and I will be volunteering at an animal sanctuary in Costa Rica this summer.
What is your favorite city?
Most definitely Tokyo, Japan! It is so clean and the subways are so quiet. No one talks! I know this sounds weird, but it has to have by far, the best public restrooms I have used. The bidet toilets (washlets) have heated seats and music you can play for privacy. I am trying to find a way to get one of these installed in my home. There is a high level of respect in Japan, for not only each other, but for their surroundings. It is truly honorable! Arigato ~
